I started this late so for all of you who don't already know here goes.

I have been invited to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in Benin. Benin is on the south facing coast of western Africa. It is situated between Togo and Nigeria.

I received, and accepted, my invitation on May 24, 2005. I applied in November 2004 after returning from working on the John Kerry Presidential campaign in Missouri and Iowa. (Can't win them all, I guess.)

I will be going to Philadelphia for staging with the rest of the volunteers on July 5. We will then all be sent to Benin on July 8. We will undergo 11 weeks of training before beginning our two year commitment.

For those of you with further questions I will be updating this blog with links to other pertinent sites in the future. I do not, however, know how much internet access I am going to have once in Benin so please be patient.
